Cruise Excursion Questions We Are Asked Most
Are there any hidden costs or fees?
No — none whatsoever. The price you pay at booking is the full price of your excursion. No surcharges, no port fees, nothing sprung on you on the day. Gratuities are not included and are entirely at your discretion.
What happens if my ship is delayed or cannot dock?
If your ship fails to dock at Roatán, your booking is refunded automatically — the full amount less the 4% card processing fee. If you are simply running late, call or message us; we plan every day around your all-aboard time with at least an hour of buffer.
How will I find my driver at the cruise port?
Your pickup instructions are emailed to you as soon as you book, naming the meeting point for your terminal. Your driver or guide waits there with a sign and will ask for your booking invoice and photo ID before you set off.
Do the driver and tour guide speak English?
Yes. Every one of our drivers and guides is fluent in both English and Spanish. You will never be handed to someone you cannot have a real conversation with — which matters more than it sounds when you are asking about your return time.
Do you pick up from resorts and vacation rentals, not just the cruise ports?
Yes — wherever you are staying on the island. We collect guests from every resort, hotel, vacation rental, Airbnb and private home on Roatán. You do not need to be a cruise passenger to travel with us.
Can I cancel or move my booking?
Cancel in writing to accounting@discoverroatan.net: 72 hours or more ahead is a full refund less the 4% transaction fee, 48–72 hours is 50% less the fee, and under 48 hours is non-refundable. With 48 hours’ notice you can instead transfer the booking to another excursion or another person.
